Each year a wonderful ceremony is enacted in Flinders on Anzac Day .
If you and yours haven’t participated this is a wonderful event to experience. It begins at the new Hall where a short Ceremony is performed for the community , which at its conclusion all attendees march down Main street towards the memorial park overlooking the Sea. Numerous members of the Naval community also attend making a wonderful connection to the day.
Shoreham Community Association always places a memorial wreath on the site on behalf of our Community. It is a great Honour to represent our Community at this very moving event.
For those who would find such a commemoration a bit too overwhelming a small ceremony is held by Anne Lorkin at Shoreham Community Reserve near the Hall where the flag will be lowered and few words spoken in memorial . You may note some of Shoreham’s Fallen from WW1 & WW2 are memorialised along the path in front of the Hall where the rosemary grows. Lest we forget
All welcome.
