COMMUNITY MEETING

  • Community Hall 67 Byrnes Road Shoreham, VIC, 3916 (map)

We are setting up Neighbour Networks and need your help.

Neighbour networks are are small groups of neighbours in a street or road that support each other and help prepare for and recover from emergencies such as fire or storm, particularly if power and communications are not working.

Each Neighbour Network would have a co-ordinator to support street gatherings and communication and liaise with other networks, such as an umbrella Emergency Network that includes the CFA, SES and Shire Council.

The purpose of the meeting is to introduce and discuss the idea, look at what has been achieved elsewhere and gain support from the local community to establish a local Emergency Network and Neighbour Networks.

Please come along and see how you can get involved to strengthen the resilience of your local community. We would like to find co-ordinators to help get our Neighbour Networks started!

Our treasurer John Matthews is our point person for this, so do contact him at shorehamcommunity@gmail.com with any questions.

If you can’t come to the meeting but want to be involved, please email us to register your interest.
