Road Safety - Byrnes rd & Frankston Flinders Road

The Frankston - Flinders Road, Shoreham, and Byrnes Road intersection remains a high-risk intersection. Over the past five years the SCA has engaged Federal, State and local politicians and agencies to address the hazardous nature of the intersection. Unfortunately, the SCA’s advocacy has consistently received unsatisfactory responses. In reply to the most recent submission lodged in January VicRoads stated “Thanks for raising your concern with us. We have investigated this intersection considering last five years crash records and crash history indicate that there is no reported crash at this intersection which require immediate intervention.

In summary it would appear that a serious accident needs to occur to warrant action. The SCA encourages residents to raise your concern directly via the VicRoads website www.vicroads click on traffic and road use then report a road issue to make a submission. Resident action please!

The MPSC have supported our concerns but as a State road responsibility lies with VicRoads the above appears the best action.
