Automatic External Defibrillator’s

Shoreham Community Association has provided a total of 4 publicly accessible defibrillators, or AED’s for our Community use. All 4 sites are well lit at night, have parking access and signage. These are automatic and will not give a shock unless required. If you wish to learn more about how to use one prior to an Emergency please contact SCA. Shorehamcommunity@gmail.com as we provide free public education supported by Ambulance Victoria.

1. The Tennis Club -under the verandah on Cliff Road.

Located on the the Public Reserve on Cliff road and Byrnes Road. The original Unit Donated to Shoreham by The BENDIGO BANK that stood outside the old Post Office has been replaced having served the Community for over 10 years . THE COMMUNITY BANK has Kindly invested another $2,000 towards a brand new Defibrillator, signage, accessories and Cabinet in support of the SHOREHAM COMMUNITY. Since the Shoreham Community Association’s relationship started with the Community Bank Balnarring & District, they have Invested $11,609 in helping us better serve our Community. We and our Members wish to once again thank The Bendigo Bank and look forward to our future projects. Available 24hrs

2. Shoreham Post Office and General store- 57 Byrnes Road. 3916 ( just near the post boxes)

This AED was DONATED by a generous local who wishes to remain “anonymous”. It is available 24 hours a day, to all of Shoreham’s Community .We are very grateful for this kind person and His great incentive.

3. Telstra property (Nelson Street near Nursing Home)

Just near the intersection of Frankston Flinders Road and Nelson Street this AED is located just off the driveway to the right in a stand alone protective box and is well lighted at night . With our thanks to TELSTRA for allowing us to utilize their site , we would also like to extend the SCA’s gratitude to our “wonderful members” who through their financial support have made this unit available to our Community in the Myers drive Estate . Available 24hrs.

4. Beach Track (Intersection of Viewbank Street and Lexington Ave.)

This Unit generously provided by an Incentive from Mornington Peninsula Shire and we thank Andrew Joseph ( Team Leader for Community Resilience and Emergency Management) for overseeing its installation. This is where the fire track leads from the road reserve down to the beach . Hopefully this will not only provide Emergency assistance to the Residents of the “Coryule Estate” but additionally all the visitors, surfers and tourists using the Beaches near 1st reef and Honeysuckle. Bollards have been placed in front of the unit to prevent damaging vehicle disturbance and blockage of visibility and location. The site is well lit at night and is available 24hrs.

Ongoing monitoring and maintenance of AEDs is essential. The SCA has assumed this important task and has lobbied the MPS to undertake this work.

With 4 units to maintain and check regularly this is a large and ongoing responsibility and expense for the SCA . Both Batteries and electrodes require routine replacement. This is currently funded by our generous SCA members and their annual contributions and sponsors such as M.P.S. and Bendigo Bank . We thank you all for your generosity.

Call 000 for assistance :Ambulance Victoria will replace used electrodes.
