Elgee Park fundraiser
Well word is out out! Not only was it a wonderful experience for the lucky 100 who participated, but we have raised more than $7,300 to put into regenerating our our public areas, natural reserves and roadsides so that they are habitats for the wildlife we all love.
We now have sufficient funds to engage a contractor to undertake works along Byrnes Road . What exactly do we mean? Certainly not your bog standard garden maintenance with exotics, whipper snipping or poisons. We mean actual regeneration by removing weeds, rubbish and exotics without damage to the soil. As we have shown in many of our undertakings, our flora can regenerate naturally if given the chance. In tandem with this approach we now can purchase “endemic” species to plant along the roadside.
If you are interested in helping out SCA with this process please contact : shorehamcommunity@gmail.com to register . Additional details may be obtained by checking our EVENTS page.
