Update on the Tennis Club

Some of the club’s avid pickleball players

At the recent AGM the following committee members were elected: President: Dylan Candy; Vice-President: Harrison Jones; Treasurer: Neil Carabine; Membership Officer: Gina McInnis; and general committee members: Doug Gaze, James Kelly, Colette Day, and Charles Atkins.  The committee is keen to build the membership and continue to support a tennis facility that is an important part of the local community. Welcome to the new committee members.

A big thank you to both Simon Healey (ex-President) and Tom Sargant (ex-Treasurer) who have stepped down from their positions at the Club after five years of hard work, including fundraising and successful grant applications.

Resurfacing of the two upper courts

After several years of fundraising and grant applications, the Club finally raised enough funds to refurbish our two upper courts. The project began early in 2025 but encountered several challenges during the excavation process. This delayed the project, so that we were in a race against time before the cooler weather set in. The final coat will be applied then relined for both tennis and pickleball in the upcoming summer months. In the meantime, the courts have been temporarily lined, and the surface is adequate for both tennis and pickleball.

A big thank you to Mornington Peninsula Shire and the Bendigo Bank Balnarring for their respective $50,000 and $20,000 grants.
